There are many ways to empower new moms and offering breastfeeding sessions is one of my favorite ones!
I get to help a mom capture that special bond and connection with her child. Connection that sometimes takes a long time to accomplish. Breastfeeding is a journey that doesn’t come as easy as we may think based on information shared online or in movies.
We often believe because it’s natural, it should be easy, but for majority of moms there are months of tears and struggles before you and your baby finally settle into comfortable and painless routine.
Breastfeeding photo sessions are a way for us to celebrate the journey. To celebrate ourselves and what our bodies are capable of. Just imagine – nourishing your child while in womb and then for months on earthside providing your little one with all they need to grow.
Melissa, our featured mom in this blog, is a doula – she is spending majority of her time helping new moms embrace the new life and new experiences. She is also volunteering with Baby Blues Connection creating friendly environment for moms to share about their PPD and even breastfeeding struggles.
I enjoyed photographing Melissa and her little one. Amazing Jessica of Make Me Blush did the make up and hair and we used lots of wardrobe from my studio. We had fun, laughed, played with kiddo and created images we will all cherish for years to come!
